From Living Rooms to Living Legends and Back Again

Hey friends,

After a full year of monthly piano-care guides, I wanted to start something new with you — real stories from the road.

One of the things I love most about this work is how quickly a day can swing from an ordinary living room to a big concert stage and right back again. I’ll never forget tuning for a symphony this last month one afternoon, the pressure of making sure every note was perfect before a packed house, and then later that same day sitting in a quiet family room helping a mom whose kids just started lessons. The piano doesn’t care if it’s in a mansion or a modest home — it just wants to sing again.

​Some moments make me laugh out loud on the road. Like the time we visited a new client on Hilton Head Island, I was so enamored with the piano and so focused on making sure everything was right that for the first 10 minutes I missed something gigantic in the room...Literally the size of an elephant in the room was this larger then life full pipe organ!  Never in all these years have I ever seen anything like that in a home.

Those little surprises keep the miles from ever feeling long.

Whether I’m prepping a concert grand or rescuing an old upright that hasn’t been touched in years, the goal stays the same: leave every piano sounding better than I found it and every family a little happier.
