From Daytona Beach to Atlanta: The Month The Tour Bus Really Started Feeling Like Home...
Hey friends,
One of the things I’ve learned on the road is that the best months aren’t always the busiest — they’re the ones where everything starts working together the way you hoped it would.
April felt like that. The tour bus nicknamed "Georgieanne" got her first real extended trip down to Florida, and she handled it like a champ. A week based out of Daytona Beach and helping people in Ormand Beach, Flaggler Beach, New Smyrna Beach as well as Palm Bay and Orlando. Rolling up through Hilton Head Island, Tybee Island, and Early Branch SC. for the last few days. There’s something special about working out of the RV, making coffee while the sun comes up over the water, and knowing the full shop is right there with you.

One of my favorite stops this month was taking a piano action back to a wonderful woman in Aiken, SC. She had a house concert with members of Julliard before the "Joy in Aiken" celebration. After the concert we explained that a refurbishing her piano action would make it play and sound better then she had imagined. When we reinstalled the action she sat down and played a few notes with the biggest smile. “Oh, I didn't know it could feel this good?!?!,” she said. Moments like that remind me why Kelli and I do these tours together — she’s the one who makes the bulk of the magic happen on the repair side with my input once it's completed and then we get to deliver it back into people’s homes or churches. Truly blessed...

We also had some fun contrasts this month — tuning in quiet living rooms one day and then working on grands in a posh retirement facility the next. Five pianos all different personalities, all needing a little love. NBC featured us this month with a clip on 11Alive in Atlanta. By the end of the day my hands were tired but my heart was full!
None of it would work without Kelli’s steady hand on the repairs and the operations side, and the incredible clients who trust us with their instruments month after month.
What about you? Have you had a piano moment recently that made you smile — maybe an old song that came back to life, or a kid who finally sat down to play again? Drop it in the comments. I’d love to hear it.
As always, we will see you on down the road...
