September 2026 U.S. Piano Tuning Tour
Tales from the Trails...
A TV Morning, a 100 year old Bösendorfer piano reconditioned and a Night at The Biltmore
September felt like the season turning. The air changed, churches started calling about Christmas, and the work moved from “we will get there” to “we have you on the calendar.”
Early in the month we were on ABC's The Jennie Show at WJBF. Jennie was kind, we premiered part of the three-minute promo for our upcoming documentary and they let the story be what it is: a traveling tuner, a partner who rebuilds the insides, and pianos that still have a life in them. The shop stayed full! A church piano was picked up on Monday, went home on a Saturday and was played on Sunday. The church sanctuary was vibrant again and the pastor mentioned how well the choir sounded with the "new" piano. Later we reconditioned a 100 year old wonderful Bösendorfer piano action back to life. The piano was owned by a child prodigy and she eventually became a concert pianist in the 1950's. The family wanted to bring the piano back to its former greatness in her honor.
October is already spoken for in a lot of the usual towns, then we drop south: Valdosta, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tampa and Naples areas. If you are in or near Florida and the piano has been waiting, the dates are up. Churches, this is the window before the Christmas music starts. A tuning now is better than an emergency in December.
We ended the month with a slower weekend in Asheville. Parked "Georgieanne" near The Biltmore and explored the grounds. It's amazing how it's sitting there on the edge of a valley like it's own town. Not every run has to be packed. Sometimes the point is to show up, do the work, and let the mountains be the mountains.
One More Thing....
I learned once again what shirt not to wear when visiting a Best Buy. I had so many customer engagements I think I'm on the schedule for next week! Lol
As usual, we're grateful you are on the trail with us.
Stay tuned...
